A clear path to ADN

A path gets you ready to apply to ADN programs and helps you submit a strong application. Each program makes its own admission decision.

There's a lot to figure out before applying to nursing school. We'll help you understand the requirements, build your list of schools, and keep track of what you need to do.

How it works

  1. Complete your CNA Prep program

Earn your CNA Prep credential in 4 to 8 weeks. You can start working in healthcare right away, earn while you prepare, and bring real patient care experience to your ADN application.

  2. Meet the ADN prerequisites

We help you plan and finish what ADN programs ask for, like Anatomy & Physiology I, English Composition I and ATI TEAS.

  3. Apply with your checklist

Each ADN program you pick gets an application checklist in your portal, so you know what is done and what is next. Each program makes its own admission decision.

  4. Start your ADN program

Begin your ADN program with your CNA Prep experience behind you. The listed timeframe for this path is 2 to 3 years.

Common questions

Do I need to finish CNA training before I take the exam?

In most states, yes. You complete a state approved nurse aide training program first, then take the exam. A few states let some people challenge the exam. Your prep course is built around your state's exam either way.

Why start with a CNA?

It gets you working in patient care quickly, and nursing programs notice. Many give extra admission points for CNA experience, and some require it.

Should I choose an ADN or a BSN?

An ADN is usually the faster, more affordable way to become an RN. Many nurses start with an ADN, begin working, and finish a BSN later through an RN to BSN program.

How do I find the right schools?

Choose your state or enter your ZIP code, and we'll show you programs near you with their requirements side by side, so you can pick the ones that fit your goals and apply with confidence.

Is admission guaranteed?

No. Each school makes its own admission decisions. This path helps you meet the requirements and put together a strong application.
